Alright South Park, the UFC (Unofficial Fun Committee) had our meeting and we’ve nailed down the events for December!
Here’s what we’ve got lined up:
Santa Claus is coming to South Park! Tuesday, Dec 22nd @ 4PM Santa will arrive in his trailer… ahem, sleigh at the Park Dr. gazebo. He’ll be taking a tour of the neighborhood to hand out treats to all the good little boys and girls. Afterwards, he’ll return to the gazebo to pose for pictures and receive your X-mas lists.
South Park Light Off! It’s a Christmas Light & Decoration Competition. Since 2020’s been such a rollercoaster ride, and so much of the fun has been missed, we thought what better way to reintroduce a little fun than to get busy decorating our neighborhood with lights, inflatables and other magical decorations?!
Starting from now until January 2, 2021 you are invited to join us in making merry and helping South Park shine. Voting will commence once we have our ballots printed up, along with a neighborhood map for you to browse and vote at your leisure (hopefully by the end of this week).
Naturally, there will be prizes and bragging rights, along with a snazzy yard sign to proudly rub in your neighbor’s face that your electric bill is 4x higher than theirs. There will be four categories: – Classic/Traditional – Modern/Creative – The Griswold Award (need I say more?) – and Most Festive Street.
The South Park Christmas Walkabout (aka the Walking Ugly Sweater Contest which was previously known as The Hot Toddy Party). Saturday, Dec 19th @ 5:30PM come join your neighbors in revelry and hilarity as we tour the neighborhood in our finery (aka ugly sweaters).
We’ll have fine libations and victuals set up at various stations throughout the neighborhood for you to partake of as you saunter jauntily through the streets, taking in the sights and sounds of a South Park aglow with Christmas Cheer.
In addition to being able to wave “hi” to your neighbors from afar, along with trying to guess who they are behind their masks, you’ll also get to vote for the ugliest sweater of the evening (or three).
More details and particulars will be forthcoming. Looking forward to seeing you out and about these next few weeks!!!
