South Park News

Due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, Historic South Park, Inc. has canceled social events for the first half of 2021. We’re hoping that by July, we’ll be able to gather outdoors safely. South Park parties are crucial to building community and keeping our bonds strong. We miss not being able to host them. Here’s the tentative plan for 2021:

Earth Day Clean-up: Tentatively April 24th, we’ll encourage you, your family or your “pod” to take part in our 6th annual clean up day. We hope to reward you with prizes and pizza as always.

3 Porch, Deck + Patio parties: hoping to safely gather during the months of July, August and September.

Halloween event: October 31, 5:30pm we normally host a costume parade and free hot dogs preparatory to the 6pm start of trick or treating.

Christmas event: with luck, we’ll return to the Hot Toddy Party– festive lights, food, drink and some of the best raffle baskets ever. Usually a Saturday, either Dec 4 or 11, 6-9pm.

As the dates draw nearer, we’ll post notices here, on our Facebook page, and via our email list. Stay active and safe, everyone!

August 7: our 2nd PPD of 2021

Although PPDs are usually carry-ins, in deference to public health concerns, we’ll have the food catered. Rumor has it, it will be a tasty buffet that will please omnivores and vegetarians alike. There will still be beverages for all, including beer and wine. Bring a lawn chair if you like.
