We’re getting new playground equipment!
The City of Dayton is considering 6 different designs. Please study the designs and rank your favorites by Fri Jan 27.
Did you read the Dayton Daily News article saying Blommel Park was one of the lucky Dayton neighborhoods getting new playground equipment? Public Works is in the early stages of selecting the designs and needs our help selecting the top 3 out of the 6 they are considering.
Once you’ve seen the designs, you will have questions:
Q: Swings? They will remain.
Q: Phillip’s toys and activities? With luck, Phillip will continue to donate and maintain them for all to enjoy.
Q: Purple dinosaurs? They’ll only stay if they pass the City’s safety inspection.
Q: Timeframe? It’s too early in the process to say when the new equipment will arrive
A cause for celebration!
Historic South Park Inc. is delighted to share this news because we’ve been campaigning for new equipment for months.
The current playground set is 20+ years old. It was purchased and installed using neighborhood funds and many hours of volunteer labor back when there were no other options.
This time, the City is doing it for us — we only have to give input!.
Please share this good news with your neighbors so they can also rank their favorites! We’ll get back to you when we learn more!
