In the summer of 2001, the South Park Historic District hosted a very successfull “Rehabarama.” In a partnership with Citywide Development and the Home Builders Association of Dayton, five historic homes were renovated and three new infill houses were constructed. Roughly 9,000 people attended the home show. Every property was sold to an owner-occupant. Today, each home has been personalized by the new homeowner, and many of the residents have become active volunteers in the neighborhood.
